I have been washing the diapers in our new front loader for almost 5 months now. The rubber seal around the door is a grey color and I have noticed brown streaks staining it now.
Our old front loader had a black rubber seal thingy so I never noticed this on our other machine.
Is this from the diapers? any opinions? does this happen without washing diapers?
I think it happens to the seal on front loaders regardless of diapers. We had a FL for a year before DD was born, and it was already stained by the time we started doing diapers. It could be minerals in your water or some type of mold.
Ours has that as well. I have scrubbed with bleach and with vinegar and have come to realize that they're just stains (I'm not sure why they're from, actually).

has this happened to anyone else?
Mine has this but it's actually sometimes brown slime and I think it is residue from the diaper's contents! Yuck! I clean it off regularly with a cloth and vinegar. I have also "washed" the washer before with a prewash with baking soda and then another wash with baking soda and vinegar together, and wiped the whole thing and the rim with baking soda and the cloth.
thank you so much for all the responses!
I am going to "clean" the machine, find out about the water and contact the manufacturer about the staining and ask their opinion on why.
