are frozen veggies much less nutritious than fresh?

i am addicted to them, because it is so easy to cook, and they are always 'fresh'.

As I understand it, frozen can actually be superior to fresh--many fresh veggies have spent days getting to he store, or were picked unripe to survive shipping. The ones that are frozen are picked ripe and frozen straight away. So while frozen veggies aren't as good as locally grown and freshly picked they're better than something that's been sitting around your local Safeway.

If you live in an area that has fresh produce growing year roundm fresh would be best - but if you live in an area with a limited growing season, frozen will be more nutritious for most things.

I feel most comfortable doing some of each - some nutrients are lost during freezing, but others are preserved that might be lost during the long (sigh) trek to our local markets.

I feel the same with raw vs. cooked foods. There's benefits to each.
