I'm looking for some good advice for Dhs/DPs this year. I want to fill his stocking but not pay a ton.

So far this is what I've got:

A free 6-in-1 screwdriver (online coupon from Lowe's)
2 packs of handwarmers (he often rides his motorcycle to work for a cheap commute and has freezing hands when he gets there)
a pair of Merino Boot socks

I'd like to put in a few more things in the stocking if I could. Ideas are really appreciated!

He loves to read sci-fi, he smokes a pipe occasionally (has all the tabacoo he needs which is too bad because its pretty cheap), plays board and video games.

I am getting DP candy. He loves chocolate. I am also making some no bake cookies to add to his stocking. Really its all sugar!
Maybe a lotto ticket? Its a splurge that DP wouldn't buy himself.

Dh and I use our stockings as a way to refill all the necessary things we use -- razor blade refills, tea, hand lotion, nice soap (dh is a freak for good olive oil soap), etc.

I know it seems overly practical, but we love it. I think of hin each time I make tea and he says he loves to wash with soap that I chose just for him. We live ridiculously frugal, so soap and tea are big fun for us.

I highly doubt that my husband's stocking stuffers translate to most guys, but here goes:

Tweezers (I get him a nice new set every couple years cause he loses his).
an old handbook for "druggists" I found at a used store (he is studying to be a pharmacist, he will get a kick out of it).

Yeah I am married to an eyebrow plucking wannabe pharmacist. Or more nicely put a well groomed student of pharmacy?

This year I've been raiding the Dollar Spot at Target all year for goodies.

DH is getting:
gourmet coffees (1 pot serving size)
The Office coffee mug
The Office Note pad
holiday socks
Orbitz gum

I'll probably hit up the dollar store and add:
little bottles of olive oil and flavored balsamic vinegar
special crackers
some artisan cheese

I have gotten him (and myself) tiny little Coleman keychain compasses and flashlights. I'll probably add a box of chai for him and a small bag of coffee for me as well as a tangerine and a piece of dark chocolate. I think that seems like plenty of things and all items that will get used. I think the keychains and flashlights (the only non-edibles) were about $8 for each of us. My limit was $10 each on stocking stuff plus the chai or coffee which I was going to buy anyway I'm sure I could have been more frugal if I needed to, but I was purposely trying to balance buying quality, usuable items with frugality.

we usually don't do stockings because of $ but this year we have decided to. Its going to have to be super cheap because funds are really really low.

So my ideas are
*hand warmers to put in his gloves
*bandannas, to wear over his mouth and nose. He commutes to work by bike and train and the bandanna will work wonders to help keep the wind off his face.
*Im making one of those coupon books for him too (if anyone has any ideas )
*Im also making a mixed tape of love songs with screen print or collage art work

Im still thinking of some other hand made idea

I love little toys, mind puzzles, and framed pics of the family/kids for my desk at work. In the cubicle jungle he who has the most interesting toys gets the most face time with important people.

I just picked up a few things at World Market. A Valrhona chocolate bar (one for DS too...I have a 3 year old chocolate snob ), some hot sauce, I sometimes throw in a magazine subscription (print off the receipt and put it in his stocking). A Caribou Coffee gift card (he's a grad student and there's one near his campus). We also do necessary items like new toothbrushes. He might get some new socks in there (REI outlet smartwool stuff probably). None of those is particularly inexpensive, but most of them are needed or very usable.

Maybe a bottle of Chimay if I need to really fill his stocking up. I usually give him a 6 pack of a mix of fun microbrews, etc. from World Market as a gift. Maybe one will migrate into his stocking.

mmm. Cliff bars! I cannot forget the cliff bars. Without them, DH would not last all day at work.

Shaving soap, or some sample sizes of nice shaving cream or aftershave? DH gets that and some sort of "manly scented" bodywash. Plus a nice microbew, new toothbrush, a tin of altoids, and an orange.

Small stockings for the win.

We are barely doing Christmas this year because of money. I don't know if I'll do a stocking for DH. My parents will have stockings for both of us. Either way, some of the things he'll get in his stocking are:

New Razor by Preserve (good for the environment!)
New toothbrush by Preserve
Some sort of chocolate....kisses or snickers
Gloves for work

Yeah, we're wild with the gifts

My DH gets new toothbrush (we all do ), nice soap, a $5 DVD (from Target or a pawn shop or anywhere), candy, candy, candy! I'm filling any excess stocking room with clemintine oranges this year - DH & my kids eat them so freakin fast I can't afford to buy them very often, they're just like candy!

I'm throwing in some duct tape and small bungee cords, the little ones for strapping things into the back of his truck. He's always looking for these 2 things... I'll also include chapstick, handwarmers, candy, an orange, thats about it. All of our stockings are usually pretty mild.
