I bought some FB when DD was about a year old and after a few months, I stopped using them because the commercial w/d at my apartment complex wasnt getting them clean enough, and it was costing way too much $$$ to do the pre rinse/ extra rinse etc. So now I have moved and im due with baby #2 in May, considering cloth and decided to get out the old FB and give them a test run on DD(now 2y4m) to see if I can CD the new babe now that I have my own w/d... and so far no good. I did a cold rinse/hot wash with charlies/2 more cold rinses and they smelled good until she wetted them.
I have read about 500 billion ways to wash and even strip diapers and everyone swears by their way but Im ready to give up. Can anyone give any last advice?

Maybe try boiling them. Put them in a pot of water, and keep them in there until it starts just rolling. Boil for like 5 minutes more. Put them in a big bowl in the sink and let cold water run through them too cool them off a bit.

You just have to be careful not to boil too long or it could mess up the snaps.
