L has been doing so well in medium Fuzzi Bunz, in fact I just bought like 8 more for her first birthday because we were using them more than anything else in our stash. Suddenly she seems to have outgrown the rise in them... but our larges were too huge in the waist still... so I traded for a petite toddler size which is a better fit but I'm just not loving them anymore.

I don't know what to do. We've got some Happy Heiny's and the fit is much better, but I keep getting wicking around the legs. What's up with that? I'm tired of getting wet.

Plus, I'm starting to feel a little frantic, because FBs are especially important to us at night b/c they're so easy but she's starting to outgrow them, and they're leaking, and I don't know what to replace them with. I looked into some Happy Hempy's but I don't really want to go back to fitteds and wool at night.

Argh. I've heard people gripe about this weird fit stage, and about the heavy-peeing toddler stage, but is there a solution????

I'm not quite sure what the problem is with the PT size on her. I only have 1 so far and she seems to pee in it immediately so it's tough to critique. :LOL

It seems like it is almost too tight around, especially in the thighs, and I hate to buy a bunch of them and have her outgrow them. I'm worried that once it's stuffed for night it won't fit at all (haven't had a chance to try it yet). Maybe it's because the name "petite toddler" is so incongruous with my chunky little girl...

Hopefully with more experience I will love this size as much as we loved the mediums. Maybe I am just mourning our pretty rainbow of mediums and the fact that I have to rebuild it and that's stressful on a tight budget.

It sounds like all you need is a crossover snap on the size Larges. This way you could use the tightest leg snap if needed, and the with the crossover snap the waist could be tighter. I'm sure you could find someone to do that for you!! I would say I could, but honestly right now I don't know how long it would take me to get them back to you. I seem to have no time for anything lately!

I tried crossing over the waist snaps (those tabs are so flexible that is easy to do) and it still wasn't a good fit. Just way too bulky, there was a lot of overlap. I could have put cross-overs on them with my snap press (hadn't occurred to me before I sold them of course) but I don't think I'd have been very happy with it.

i'm right there with you too, my son isn't *quite* out of the rise yet (but I like low-rise dipes, like elbees) but the fit is really funny on him now.
Larges though, are loose in the waist and BAGGY in the rise. Probably due to the fact he's inherited his momma's arse, or lack thereof

I bought a few snap-ez pockets to try them since everyone at diaperpin talks about them but *nobody* here does. Odd) and I LOVED the fit right off.
The large fits him on the tightest snaps, with plenty of growing room, and the rise has room but isn't HUGE on him.
I just ordered like 9 more (lol) to replace my medium FBs, and then i'm selling off his med fbs...

I also really like my medium knickernappy pockets on him too. Still LOTS of room in the rise, but never baggy like FBs are. Plus, they fit with the tabs touching (they have a crossover tab) and still has lots of room to grow in them too. AWSOME design, esp for longer/leaner kiddos.

I agree though, the thigh measurement on the PT is the same as a medium (or smaller even?) and the rise is about the same as the larges.
It sounds like you need the rise and thigh of the large, with a smaller waist.
I've always needed smaller waists on the FBs...he's always outgrown them on the middle waist snaps (which I only used bcause the 3rd thigh + tightest waist made them gap funny) and they've always been loose in the waist.

At the heavy wetting stage I was out of my mind with sheets and PJs every day to wash and a bath every morning. I had to leave FB for day only and use fitteds double stuffed with wool at night.

I've had wicking on occassion too and I can't say I've ever determined why. A run through the washer, FB alone, no inserts with fabric softener might help. I tend to wash my FB separate so I can dry them on med/low. I've had wicking this weekend come to think of it, I probably should run them through with fab softener and low dry.

I can't help you on fit, my dd and ds2 wear what I've got 5 med, several L and several XL. I was given a stash of FB L and XL before she was born for my ds2. They both wear all 3 sizes. I noticed that FB has a lot of size descrepancy, I have a med that fits like a sm. I have a L that is an XL size and XL that are more like L...

I often will just use CPF for a spell with covers and then wonder why I haven't for so long. Sometimes you just need a change...

I have about a days worth of fitteds for my dd. I haven't washed my wool in a while and I have 2 sitting on the floor to be washed that got a little poos on them about 2 or 3 months ago
:

The thing w fitteds or AIO is the dry time. Most of my fitteds dry quickly enough, but I have about 3 that require a second go with whatever is next for the dryer. It's probably what keeps me from wanting more. Also dunking those in the toilet to get the poos off and then having to ring them out -- yuck...

I loved my fuzzibunz until about a month ago when they just started fitting really weird on Ethan. The rise is great, but they gape in the front, even on the tightest waist snaps. I guess that's what happens when instead of a baby budda belly your babe has abs of steel :LOL

I am phasing them out, and going with Swaddlebees and VB AIOs, which fit great on him right now. And in the mean time, I have been using tri-folded infant prefolds a lot recently and I am starting to love the simplicity of those also

If you're looking to replace them with more pockets, I highly recommend Snap-EZ. I like the shape of them much better than FBs once you get beyond medium FBs; large SEZ fit Ishie perfectly when he outgrew medium FBs, whereas I didn't like the fit of L FBs at all. (Never tried PT, because from the measurements I knew there was no way they'd fit. PT would probably fit now, but I don't want to buy more pockets now.)

Nitara is 23 pounds and in large FB's-- just barely. She can't fit the PT because of her thighs. She's not huge, just solid. On the larges, they are just barely fitting her. It's important to get the bottom snaps just right so it holds on her waist. Otherwise if those are too lose it sags and leaks. She's at that stage right now where some of them require me to snap the tightest snap on one side and the second tighest on the other.

Just make sure you get the solid color PUL... I love my snap ez pockets, but the print PUL wick, and I will have to try re-waterproofing them in hopes that I can use them again.

I am going through the same thing. I have 18 M fb that I bought just a few months ago and now dd is on the last thigh snaps. She started off on the second one but just in a couple of months she has grown so much. I am replacing a few of these with disposanot II's which she wears on the tightest setting right now. If only I could get my hands on more of these! Disposanots are the only diaper besides prefolds that I have ever been happy with and I have tried a bunch.
