I was recently in a health food store asking about diet supplements and there is this new product that is suppose to be BIG it is called FUCOTHIN by Garden of Life.
I am a believer in Garden of Life's products but was wondering if anyone knows much about this product.
Below is some info on the product I was interested on the results clinical study.

I haven't tried it either but I did read the story of how it came to be. It sounds really great. I wonder how much it costs.

All of the Garden of Life products sound wonderful but they are so much more expensive than most of the products in the health food store it makes them harder to afford.
I would love to learn more about this product and if it's safe for breastfeeding mothers.

In WHole FOods they have Fucothin for about 42-45.00 a bottle.

I just bought a bottle this weekend, so I'll let you guys know if I see results. It is supposed to take about 6 weeks before it takes full effect. But the clinical studies say that it boosts the metabolism an average of 18%. The only ingredients are an extract from seaweed pigment and pomogranite oil. I am going grain an sugar free. I lost the first 7 fast, but I definitely am slowing down, so I hope this keeps me from plateauing as much as I usually do.
So after about a week of taking the focuthin every time I eat, I think I'm seeing some difference. I had been plateaued and even regained a couple pounds for the past 2 weeks. But then yesterday I dropped down to my previous low, and this morning I lost another 1.5 lbs. Yeah! So now I'm down a total of 11 lbs.

You can get it online for about $35. www.vitacost.com has $5 shipping, so if you ordered some other stuff as well it would make sense. All the Garden of Life products are much cheaper online. The protein powder is like $23 right now--it was almost $40 at my co-op.

Can we have another update, Mama??

I'm in Canada. I don't think there are any Whole Foods stores here.

From what I remember it's about $65.00 a bottle.

Does anyone know if they have a customer satisfaction guarantee?

Thanks for sharing that! It's good to know.

Wow, I read all the reviews at vitacost and it sounds like a good product; something I think I would like to try. Let me know if it works for you please!!
I got the goods, mamas.

I run a health food store and I can give you all that info. I've been selling it since it came out and have had SEVERAL people come back with good results. What I really appreciate about those results is that the loss is not TOO fast so people have a better chance of keeping it off. The suggested retail price is $49.95, although I see you can find it cheaper at the big corporate type sources. Right now, they have a promotional package that has the fucothin along with a sample of one of their bars and a trial pack of perfect food and perfect meal. They also gave out a bunch of books to give away called "The Perfect Diet" by Jordan Reuben. Each store can decide on their own what to do with the books (they retail for I think about $30). I have chosen to give one free with a purchase of fucothin so maybe you can talk to the people at your local health food store about it. I imagine most stores will sell them because that's $500 free profit. They are also making a fucothin snack bar now. It's pretty good to me--$2.99 bar.

There are also knock off type products. There's one by Maritzmayer Labs called Fucoxanthin. It's the same amount of seaweed as fucothin, along with pomegranite and hoodia. I can't remember the exact price (I'm at home right now), but there are 2 sizes that range $25-$35 or so. No feedback on those yet, I just started carrying them. I would NOT take this one while nursing because of the hoodia. Might curb the little babe's appetite.

As far as with nursing, eh... When I asked them of course they gave me the legal eagle answer: "consult your physician". My line of thinking is that it's seaweed. I don't think it would do any harm, personally. I can't tell my customers that (although sometimes I say "I'm telling you as a friend, but do your own research"). That said, I'd like to try it but just haven't put forth the effort to do so yet.

The bars look okay. It's all the same good ole garden of life ingredients, coconut oil, almond butter, etc. Good stuff. Chewy texture.

If you guys have any questions about it I'd be happy to help you.

As for an update, these will be pretty biased by the fact that I started the cleanse in the Perfect Weight book the Vitamin World gave me free with purchase. I am at day 6 of the 10 day winter cleanse, and have dropped another 5 pounds since starting that. So I have lost a total of 16 pounds since the beginning of January. 5-7 of those were in the first few weeks of cutting out sugars and starches, then I plateaued for a few more weeks, lost a couple more after starting the focuthin, and the rest on the cleanse. Besides the instant gratification of the weight loss I would highly recommend the cleanses outlined in the Perfect Weight book. They are low calorie, but very nutrient rich. The winter one consists primarily of a homemade organic chicken and vegetable soup, and a raw vegetable salad for dinner, and TON's of water. And between all the water and fiber I haven't felt too hungry. I am curious to see how my metabolism reacts at the end of it though.
I also found at www.beyondprobiotics.com that you can get bigger kits for $99 and $150 that include the book, cleanse, bars and protein shake.

The $150 looks like a great deal if you like the protein shake. It includes 2 bottles of fucothin and 2 of the protein drink.

When you get up to 3 pills 3x a day it gets pretty pricey.

www.perfectweightamerica.com has some menu plans and resources.

I think I might try it with by birthday money. I've never taken any diet supplements before so it feels kind of weird.

I think I'll start with the cleanse.

I've just been taking one every time I eat, maybe 2 if it was a particularly large meal.
**I have enough mamas for FucoThin, but anyone interested in a Raw Dieters supplement can contact me, too!
Update! We also have a new raw vitamin (perfect for raw vegans) line coming out soon and I'll need a few mamas who might be interested in trying the dieters formula as well!

Please PM me if you're interested with your contact info (addy, phone, e-mail) and I'll get info out as soon as I get it from the HQ's.

Thanks for all the replies mamas! Keep them coming!

Again-I'm a troll free zone!
