We had ds's 5th Birthday Party today - and it was a fun party! He invited his entire Montessori preschool class from last year, plus some new homeschool friends, church friends, and neighbors. There was a potential for *26* children! I think we actually had 12 kids. It was just the right number.
Everyone played well together - no fights, no tears, no cranky tiffs. The parents conversed amicably. My family all made it.
We played Stomper Tails outside - each kid had a crepe paper tail, and they ran around trying to stomp tails off. But mostly they just played on the playground. Inside, they invented a game called "Boochy Baby." Dd was the Boochy Baby. She would chase the entire pack of 11 big kids, and they would try to hide. All 11 of them, in the same hiding spot.
I always worry the night before a birthday party. No one's going to have any fun, the parents will find out what an unorganized mess I am, my children will be scarred for life . . . I'm so pleased and relieved that it all turned out so well!
