I'd like to know if anyone has some good ideas about getting fun cardio at home. I really don't like exercising, but it must be done, and I'm trying to get in some cardio, which I havn't been able to accomplish at this point. Any suggestions?

Have you seen those gliding discs? I haven't used them, but they sure look like fun. They help you glide on the carpet, so you can run in place, cross your legs, do lunges, do arm exercises, etc. I'm sure if you google you can find them -- I think they are fairly cheap, like $35(??).

jump rope, jumping jacks, tabata squats, agility exercises, burpees, running stairs...make it fun! Any tabata exercise is great and is done quickly. IT is very productive.

Basically you would do as many squats as you can (using good form) in 20 seconds. Rest for 10 seconds. Repeat for 8 rounds (four minutes total) You'd be suprised at how fast you'll see results!

You can do this for anything. Tabata push ups, pull ups, burpees, squat thrusts-whatever. No equipment needed (well-except for the pull ups maybe!)

Truthfully, nothing is as fun to me as the cardio machines at the gym, but I do have a host of things that I COULD do at home. And everyone has their preferences, so you might like some of the ones I've tried:
Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds videos,
The Firm workouts (I have the equipment, also)
Good old fashioned Denise Austin workouts on Lifetime or the OLD videos I have of her workouts,
And the only one that I would actually opt to do: put the iPod on and dance around the house and make up my own aerobics moves. You could also put the iPod on and include stair climbing in this routine.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Zumba classes, and I know they have Zumba DVD's for at home (haven't tried one yet, don't know if they would be as much fun as class). This is latin music inspired aerobics, pretty fun and reminds me of my time in Costa Rica.

I second the bellydancing videos. I know you mentioned something you can do at home. Bellydancing is great fun and very low impact. Also, I have Sweatin' to the Oldies to use when DD is around (Richard Simmons is fun and just cracks me up). I have a Cher step areobics workout too (sooo scandalous).

Oh, I almost forgot to recommend going to www.infantastic.com . I have their Dance Baby Dance video and DD and I both love it.

I ride my exercise bike if I wake up before the kids, or do workouts form On Demand Exercise TV. But if I sleep in, I try to get in something anyway, by going for a walk with the kids, playing TBall in the backyard, etc.

Another favorite thing, which really gets my heartrate up is turning on a kids CD and dancing with the kids and running around the house. (we have a circle thru our living, dining, kitchen) One of our favorite CD's right now is Laurie Berkner's BUZZ, BUZZ, especially "the Pretzel song".

I love my Walk Away the Pounds DVDs. It includes walking in place, knee lifts and other low impact excercises. You don't need any equipment or a lot of space. I feel like I accomplish so much walking 2 miles each morning in 28 minutes. I lost a good amount of weight and toned up a lot a couple of years ago when I was doing in 4 times a week faithfiully and eating sensibly. I HATE excercise and I wouldn't go tro a gym if the paid me, but I really enjoy the rush I feel after the WATP workouts.
