I've always heard that anything +/- 2cm away is considered ok. If you are measuring significantly smaller at your next visit, you might want to check it out though (ie, get an u/s and check baby's growth, check fluid level, etc.). Fundal height can vary based on baby's position, mama's "maternal cushioning" (fat
), etc. And fundal height doesn't always correlate with baby's size. In both pregnancies, my babies have measured at least 2 weeks ahead via u/s, yet my fundal height measures right on.

I've always measured ahead... I don't remember how far ahead with my first, but right now I'm at 35 weeks and measuring 40 cm..

Did your OB make any comments as to why s/he thought this might be an issue?

So far this pg has been 'on target' -- measured 19 cm at 19 weeks.

But last pregnancy, I measured 40cm by the time I was 34 weeks. DS was born at 38.5 weeks and was 8lbs, 3oz. Strange, but it seemed to have something to do with the way he was positioned...
