I received my mango funk butter. For me, it works well at controlling the stink, but not the sweat. It's not an antiperspirant, though.

But I am having a big problem with the funk butter: It's bleaching my clothes! Some of my organic cotton clothes got bleached in the pit area after using the FB. I have never had the problem with other natural deoderants! I stopped using the FB because I don't want to ruin anymore clothes! What could it be? Are any of you having problems with bleachign? Maybe it's not right for my body chemistry?

I had been thinking about ordering some funk butter, but I think I'll keep an eye on this thread for info about the fabric-bleaching issue first!

I'm also a funk butter addict!!! I am amazed at how wonderfully it works at keeping the funk away and I can really STINK!!!! I have never used a natural deodorant that works as well as this. It even keeps the sweating down to a reasonable level! I haven't had any issues with it bleaching my clothes, but I don't care as long as it works and I don't have to go back to using conventional deodorants. Even DH is a fan and is using it every day. I love funk butter and I'm going to tell everybody I know about this miracle product!!! It works better than Avalon Organics even! I'm so impressed!

Does it work better than the rock/mineral deos? And has anyone tried it on their feet? Now that the warm weather is here and dh is sporting his Chacos on a regular basis the stink factor has shot way up around here.

I'm so disappointed.
I love my funk butter; I've never tried a natural deodorant that works as well as it does. I've had NO odor since using it.
BUT, I started breaking out really badly, and it hurt!!! It felt like something was eating my underarms. I read the ingredients more carefully and realized it has cornstarch in it. I've used other products before with cornstarch in them with the same results, so I guess I've determined that cornstarch + me = really, really BAD painful rash.

Now I get to start looking for natural deodorants again.
Sigh.

I've been using FB for about 6 months and haven't had any bleaching.

One thing about cornstarch: I read that it can be an excellent food source/growing environment for bacteria. Please don't take this wrong--no insult intended, and I know I have bacteria too-- but maybe you've got an issue where cornstarch provides the environment and allows something you've got naturally to get out of control? I wonder if you could use vodka or rubbing alcohol or something for a while, then try FB again?

you may want to check out the natural deoderants from Lush You can place your order by phone and ask for samples of products you're interested in. They can be very helpful

The shipping charges have deterred me from ordering Funk Butter. Does anyone know whether they ever run a "special" with free shipping? Can it be found in any stores, or only online?

For now, the only place to order Funk Butter is directly from the company. Some people posted that they placed orders with their friends to split the shipping charges, so you might want to consider doing that.

After reading all of the raves about Funk Butter here, I decided to try it and placed an order for the Unscented and the Black Cedar Fig (the shipping was only $5.90 ). My fiance' and I both tried the Unscented for over a week and neither one of us had any BO at the end of the day. Amazingly, I even smelled fine the next morning if I didn't shower in the evening!!! Mind you this was last month when the temperatures here was still in the upper 50's and low 60's. The true test is how well it will hold up with summer's heat and humidity. I plan to test drive the Funk Butter again on June 1 for an entire month and will post back my results. The temperatures here have already soared to the upper 80's. So, we'll see how well it keeps the funk away.

So, yesterday was day one of my 30-day test drive reusing Funk Butter deodorant again. I had just enough of the unscented Funk Butter left to apply under one underarm only. For the other underarm, I used my Crystal roll-on deodorant. Yesterday was very hot and humid with the temperature close to 90 degrees. I ran around all day and when I returned home, I deliberately did not shower to see how well both deodorants held up in 24-hours.

Well, this morning I had my fiancé smell my left underarm (the funk butter ). He said that it smelled fine-like I had recently taken a shower and applied deodorant. When he smelled my right underarm (the crystal), he immediately twisted up his nose, quickly turned his face away and said, “EEEWWW! Your underarm stinks. You need to go take a shower!” (You gotta love a man that’s honest).

So, hands down, the Funk Butter deodorant passed the 24-hour sniff test. Today, I started using the divine smelling black cedar fig Funk Butter. I have no doubt it will perform just as well as the unscented. I am so loving my funk butter!!!
