I'm looking for knit fabric (preferably cotton) in cute, funky patterns and/or bold, non-pastel colors (a la <a href="http://www.zutano.com" target="_blank">Zutano</a>) I want to make some clothes for ds, but I'm at a loss as to where to find cool fabric! I don't understand why, when I go to the fabric store, the "juvenile apparel" fabrics are all basically quilting cotton with no give in any direction. And the only knit fabrics I find are either solid colors, or ugly. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"> I don't really understand what kind of kids clothes one would make with stiff, non-stretchy fabric. Button-down dress shirts I guess? <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/shrug.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="shrug"> I'm having about the same luck online too. I wonder if any manufacturers have outlets in your area. I'm lucky to have a chezami outlet near me and the sell over runs of lovely fabric.<br>
Ebay is another great source for fabric

You could also try using old clothes.I jut made my gal pants out of t-shirts using this <a href="http://www.rookiemoms.com/make-some-easy-kids-pants/" target="_blank">tut.</a>
