Fuz question!!

620 Views 10 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Dahlia
DD is barely 20lbs. would a medium Fuz AIO fit her or would that be too big for her. She is pretty petite, skinny legs. I'm thinking of taking the plunge and buying some 2nd hand fuz. I hope it's as good as they say. DD is a heavy wetter I hope it can hold up for more than an hour. I hate changing her every half hour. That's usually what happen s with my Elbee's
.

I'm thinking that a small Fuz would fit your little one best.

My son weighs 30 pounds and wears medium Fuz on the smallest setting.

Fuz runs big!
I agree with Lori. If you've got a petite babe medium could be too big. Now my chunky monkey is at least 20lbs, 7 months old and growing out of her medium Fuzbombs, however, no one would ever describe her as petite :LOL
Yup my experience is also that fuzbombs run huge! My dd normally wears large or sometimes even XL in every other diaper or cover but the large fuzbomb is almost too big for her on on the smallest setting.

She's got what I'd describe as a sturdy build, not chubby but sort of big all over.
My DD is 16lbs, pretty skinny, and we have 2 med Fuz WIO sets that she wears. I think the WIO covers might run smaller than the bombs or something.

I sympathize, wool is harder with a super soaker.
IMO fuz does have a nice degree of waterproofness, esp when lanolized. But, if you don't have to have such a trim fit there are cheaper heavy wetter options out there.

I'm not sure if Kathleen is still using the same wool but I have a really old Valor kids wool cover that is very waterproof and has a nice snug leg fit.

You might ask Heidi of sugarbums if she will custom make you a triple fulled side snap cover using her jersey wool.

I also had great luck with samuels wooly dream by mom and me creations and I think these would have a nice fit for a skinny baby.

The WIOs are a trimmer fit than the FuzBomb covers from what I understand

Dahlia~ What are her measurements? You really need to go by the measurements and not weight. My little Magic Butt is around 22# and can still wear the small Fuz WIO, but I like the med's a little better on him. He has a low rise and he's pretty petite so he overlaps the sizes.

As far as comparing the med WIO cover and the Fuzbomb, there is not much difference imo. The Bomb has a different gusset in the back that makes it a little roomier in the tush area, but as far as the size of the actual cover, they are pretty much the same.
pb_and_j - how do I take her measurements??? I've never taken her measurements so I am not sure.

natashaccat - I am actually looking ffor something really trim that can fit under her clothes. I have SP's and cuddlebuns with the fuz easy that I use that work well with her. I also use Fuzzibunz and HH which are really trim, but I wanted some wool to wear under her leggings and jeans as well. From what I understand fuz is very trim especially the AIO.

Thanks for all your replies

Do you have a measuring tape? If not you can get one pretty cheap at any fabric/ sewing shop. You could also use a piece of string to measure her and then measure the string on a tape measure, but a measuring tape is much easier (and probably more accurate I would imagine).

Measure her waist while standing and sitting, her thighs, and rise. To measure rise you start the measure at her belly button, go down through the crotch and then up to the small of her back. Do this over a dipe... I use a fairly trim diaper so I don't obscure the measurement too much w/ diaper bulk. Compare what you get to Lori's chart and that should give you a better idea of how the Fuz sizes will fit your dd.

dd didn't want to stay still long enough for me to measure her. She seems to be borderline. Hmmmm what to do?? should I get the medium and take the chance that it may be too big??? They are pretty pricey even seconds.
