Okay, so this week I have started wretching while brushing my teeth. I can't stand NOT brushing my teeth, but when I start brushing, gag-orama!
I've tried mint, vanillla mint.....and gag.

Anyone know of some mild flavoured toothpaste that might make it easier??

Don't know of any, but just wanted you to know that you're not alone. I dread the thought of brushing my teeth morning and night now, but cannot bear to go without. The other night I must've gagged 10 times, AFTER I was done brushing. And this is coming from someone who has yet to puke at almost 9 weeks.
The gag reflex definitely still works though...more than EVER!

I had to change brands of toothpaste-and that worked OK. Before the toothpaste tasted terrible.

I am using Toms of Maine, cinnamon clove flavor. It's not too bad.

Try switching from gel to regular paste. It took me months to realise this and when I spoke to my dentist they said it was common.

FYI...
Our dentist told DH that toothpaste is not needed and actually gives people a false sense of clean... so we don't use it (we have some around in case we feel like it... *ahem* garlic!)... we find that we brush much longer this way. And nope... no stinky breath.... really!

Jennifer- thanks for sharing that....I actually did that this morning (brushing with no paste), b/c I couldn't stand the idea of using anything!!

: We actually use baking soda instead of toothpaste, but I realize that most people can't take the taste. But some days I just brush with water - and I definitely brush longer than when we were wasting money on toothpaste (two different kinds because we could never agree!).

You're not the only one. I almost threw up whilst brushing last night. DH then reminded me that this happened during my last pg, too. I'd forgotten.

Hang in there, mama!

Thanks, ladies! At this point, I'm brushing with a DRY toothbrush, no paste, no water or anything - else I gag. ick.
