Doulasarah's garden pics inspired me to post a few of my own
Why don't you post yours too!!

The first pics are my new scaled down veggie bed. I have a ton of stuff packed in there, the tomatoes will soon be in cages, there are baby pumpkins planted at the end that will spill over onto the grass, same with zucchini. You name it, it's probably planted in there
Basil, French tarragon, thyme, pole beans, a bit of kale that came back after the rabbits mowed it,cilantro, dill, rosemary, can't see my Greek oregano because the peas look so pretty (there would have been more but I pulled out some scragglers, I only planted shelling peas so dd could discover the joy anyway
) Alot of seeds are still waiting sprout, I'll have to post a mature pic in a few weeks
Youcan see the neighbors neglected grapevines in the background

This is how part of it looks right now, Beautiful isn't it?

Same field untouched this year & covered with Hairy Vetch

Our produce stand last fall. We are selling only heirloom tomatoes this year, from my sister's garden. She's pregnant, can't do the huge garden.

I'll throw out some pictures of my garden. These are from a few months ago. My tomatoes are about 6 feet tall now. The green beans are almost done. (I have canned over 40 quarts!) My squash is finished too. I will been pulling up the green bean plants and starting okra and blackeyed peas. I might start some more squash too. I have canned about 15 quarts of tomatoes so far...that's not counting all of the salsa I made too. I have more pickles canned than we can even use this next year. I have been making this yummy cucumber salad to use up the rest of them. My eggplant is starting to come in, so I guess I will be using some of those canned tomatoes and making some eggplant parmesan!

Thank You, Ladies!

party_of_six,your garden is so pretty! I love the way it's right off the big ole porch, so very picturesque!!

I wish I could do some canning, I know you must get so much satisfaction from doing it. I do not have a proper stove for it, actually at the moment, no stovetop at all, we just have an electric skillet, crockpot, rice/veggie steamer and two ovens, LOL! My dreams are of gas stove tops! :LOL

Thank you shaywyn! Your garden is awesome as well. I would love to have fruit stand too!. I hope you get your dream of a gas top stove one day soon. I think I would die without mine. Sometimes I really want a whole second kitchen just for doing my canning. It is VERY rewarding to see shelves full of jars of fruits, jams, jellies, salsa, and vegetables and to know that I grew them and processed them and saved them myself. Its fun to put dinner on the table!

Shaywyn, the pictures of your flowers are gorgeous! I thought I was going to see an Anne Geddes baby cuddled up in the petals.
Party_of_six, I want to kick back on your porch with a glass of iced tea and watch your garden grow! It is so lush!
I don't have any pictures of mine but everything is coming in nicely. I just had a major deweeding yesterday. This is my first garden so I let everything come up so I could find the plants and not yank them out with the weeds. It looks really great now and I'm starting to get so proud of it! Canning sounds like a lot of work but what a reward to be able to eat from your garden in the middle of winter. I think I may try my hand at it.
One of the gardeners in a neighboring plot is using an organic fish fertilizer. He has only used one application so we haven't seen any results. What do you all use? Any recommendations? I have yet to put anything on mine.
By the way, this is my first post ever. Yay, that was fun!

Thyme- those pictures are beautiful.

Jaysmama- I use plain old horse manure, chicken manure, compost, and worm castings. (mostly horse mabure though! we have enough of it
) It has made a huge difference. Last year I started my first garden in that spot. The soil was mosty sand. It was horrible. This year I have had a hard time containing everything. I have also found that the plants are just so healthy and vigorous that the insects just don't give them much of a problem....so no insecticides either.

lovnbnhome-
Thank you!

Everyone's garden's look so beautiful!!!
I envy all of you. I do like my beds, it is really a garden in a making. We spent very little money, as a lot were plants re-rooted from other plants, after a year of establishing.
I envy all that have a veggie, fruit garden. Our problem is we are on solid rock on a mountain. All the dirt is dry, and every bed is in full sun. I really want to plant more herbs, perennials though. I have lavender, soapwort, lemon thyme, purple basil, oregano, chocolate mint, spearmint, and peppermint, echinacea. I will have to take some photos.

I just love any garden, that I see. I know I am not a avid gardener like some, as having 2 children that are small roaming around, and the possibility of falling off the cliff. We do need to get a fence though.

One fruit tree that I would love to have is a asian pear tree. The pear is exquisite tasting, a flavour all in it's own. I would love to find it's fragrance in a perfume, it's intoxicating.

Oh, now I am drooling just imagining it! One of my happiest days of the summer is when the Asian Pear orchard people show up at the farmer's market for the first time. YUM!!!

Your gardens all look great! They are all so tidy!

Wait until you see mine. It's such a mess. I can't make a straight line to save my life and there are a lot of weeds. (Have to wait until the new camera comes, though - still a couple more weeks!)
Your gardens are beautiful! I love seeing other people's gardens
It just makes me happy (I spend a lot of time on Xanga looking through the gardening blogs for pictures... dh thinks I am insane).

I have some pictures on my blog (see "me" link below), but none of the garden yet. We have only lived here 2 years, and ntohing is quite what I want yet. The back garden (I will take a pic tomorrow and post it on the blog, I promise!) will eventually be 4 beds in a traditional cross shape.

Brownay2... I live in a small rocky mountian town in PA too! Where abouts are you? I live in a small patch town near Tuscarora.

Oh, and crunchymamatobe... straight lines are overrated anyhow! :LOL
All of the photos are so good...keep it up!

You all have inspired me to take pictures of my garden. This is my first garden. Taking photos has become fun...I like comparing the garden week to week.

I'm still working on it, but here is my garden web-site.
