DD is 8wks, I have done elimination of foods, I mean I am on plain oatmeal and water! She STILL has painful gas that she wakes up from her sleep. Its not her reflux because ever since I have kept her angled and upright, that has not bothered her. I know its gas because I feel it and hear it. Sometimes its a POP that makes her body jerk and she shrieks, sometimes its bubbles through her back and lower belly.
Gripe water didn't work, Mylicon drops don't work.
Is this pretty normal? is there something I am missing I could be doing? I hate seeing her so tired and not being able to sleep.

BTW I have started eating other foods again. Not introducing dairy just yet though.

My daughter is a refluxer and had aweful gas. I almost hate to tell you this, because your already on an elimination diet. My daughter is very allergic to oatmeal, side effects for her are gas, stomach bloat, pain, screaming, increased reflux, than usually a pretty fierce diaper rash. I hope things get better soon!

acid reflux is like bad heartburn.... and the way you described it and her pain sounds like that-- does it happen most often after you begin feeding her or after a meal?

My daughter has the same thing but she also has a lot of pain eating. She is on formula so I have switched to the thicker kind and that has seemed to help a bit and also Ovol drops after every feed have been a lifesaver but she still cries/shrieks sometimes when eating or napping out of the blue. I know you are breast feeding so thicker is not an option but maybe try the Ovol drops... Girpe water was useless for us as well. Other than that I think we just have to wait it out. I can tell you that by the time they can sit up all of our problems will be over. My son had it too and it was like night and day when he started sitting.

Her reflux is ok for now, since I have been keeping her angled and upright for weeks. The pain is from gas, I FEEL and HEAR the gas, sometimes its moving through her lower tummy, sometimes her back. Sometimes it hurts her to pass gas, and sometimes the gas pops in her and she'll jerk her whole body and start shrieking. she has it all the time, with a few breaks through the day.
She wakes up at 6am with gas gurgling through her. and sometimes at 6pm she'll get it the worst and cry for over an hour. those days she is so exhausted by the time she farts it all out she knocks out right from crying. and its those desperate cries too. That over an hour crying is once or twice a week only, I hope it doesn't increase, but I still want to see if anythng will help.
I'll look intol Ovol, and also thinking probiotics.

my dd's major gas contributor is wheat; even now it will make her really constipated and that is just through my milk!
