Dh is interviewing for a job in Round Rock, Tx and the outlook is good. So we're kind of interested in the Georgetown area for a home. I'm having no luck finding anything listed online so can any of you tell me about housing costs out there? Our price range is $90k or less and we need three bedrooms. If we could get at least an acre of land, that would be supreme. Does this seem reasonable for that area? How far is Georgetown from Austin? Any other info on Georgetown/Round Rock area is appreciated!

I can't really answer your questions any better than pp, but I do live in Georgetown, so I thought I would say hello! The area is really nice and I do enjoy living here near Austin. They have some great parks and really neat little downtown shopping areas here in Williamson county. Always something to do or see. Have you decided where you are moving to?

Hi - I moved away from Georgetown about 18 months ago. There are lots of new houses that are probably in your price range, along with more established stuff too. We lived in Georgetown for 2 years (military - so we move a lot) and I really liked it. In fact, we talk about getting another assignment there and moving back on our next tour.

Austin isn't far - although travel time does depend on what part of Austin you are aiming for and what time of day you are driving (rush hour vs. regular). Round Rock is really close and the traffic between Georgetown and RR isn't bad at all.

If you'd like I can put you in touch with our realtor - just PM me for her name/number. SHe was very helpful working with us (we used her to buy our home when we moved there and to sell it when we moved away). She knows the area well, understands what the buyer wants, and really works hard. She has kept in touch with us even after we've moved.
