We need to give our DD antibiotics for impetigo and she absolutely REFUSES to take it. Any tricks you know of?

We've tried
1. Bribes... EEK. You can watch Dora if you take the medicine
2. Explanations. It will make you feel better
3. Consequences. No TV if you don't take the medicine

My DD hates her antibiotics too...she does better if I give it to her in a medicine cup instead of the syringy thing, and if I give her the amoxicillin first, and then the ibuprofen which she likes better, she does better too. She likes drinking out of the little cup, so after she takes her medicine I refill it with juice or water a couple times.

If worst comes to worse, the dr office could probably give her an injectible version. It sucks I know, but its over in one shot, rather than days & days of trying to get her to take it orally.

Another thought...sometimes the pharmacy can flavor it for you for a dollar or two. Maybe a better flavor would help.

does she eat applesauce?? I always had to mix my sids ds 1 meds up with a spoon of applesauce and he would take it everytime.
