Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction or give me tips for my situation. Because of my work arrangements, I couldn't pump so we gave my daughter formula during the day and I breast feed at night and before I went to work. We start this routine in July and now I am just down to breastfeeding once a day. Now that I don't work any more I would like to go back to breast feeding full time. How do I do this without fustrating my daughter (she is five months old)?

Thanks

Hi. I saw this and wanted to offer up some advice.

If she takes the breast well, regardless of time of day...I'd just offer. Maybe start off by nursing her in the places you nurse at night. Maybe she'll equate the two.

Wish I had more to give. Best of luck!
Congrats for the decision to breastfeed full time! It will be a little work to get there, but I think you can do it.

First- drink lots of water and eat at least one bowl of oatmeal a day (helps with supply.)

Then- offer the breast often. At this point I would offer a little before you feed her- maybe half an hour or so before you think she'll be hungry. More often if possible. Let her suck as much as she will.

Do you have a pump? If so, it would be useful to pump a few times a day.

Go to www.kellymom.com I believe on there there is a schedule for reducing formula to go back to just breast.

I would suggest a nursing boot-camp. Go to bed with babe for 3 days- do nothing but take care of the two of you and nurse. Go topless as much as possible.

Take baths together.

hope that helps!
