Hi there! we have selectively vaxed our child and just moved to Vifginia. I have to sign up for preschools this January since there are waiting lists miles long where we live. I want DS to attend preschool at two and a half since I think it will be good for both of us. Not every day, just one or two days a week. We are looking at preschools affiliated with churches, but on many of the sites they say "vaccinations must be up to date as verified by your doctor" What are my options? Will DS be able to attend? he is only 15 months, but has not had Prevnar, MMR, HEP B, Chicken Pox or his DTAP or Polio boosters. My doc said that he has signed waivers for people, but that was just in passing. I haven't talked to him about this in depth yet since I didn't know how much in advance I had to sign up for a decent preschool. Can someone "Hold my hand" through this. DH will flip if our little one can't go to school next year since he really wants him to (and so I can maybe work part time). Thanks so much in advance.
My son just started a tiny pre-preschool, in a home enviroment and no one asked us about vax. phew.

might you shop around...I wonder how Waldorf schools are about vaxes.. I think they may be friendlier to nonvaxers...

anyway, here are some virginia threads...that might help...

http://mothering.com/discussions/sho...light=virginia

http://mothering.com/discussions/sho...light=virginia

http://mothering.com/discussions/sho...light=virginia

Waldorf--- bingo--- at least here in N.C.

Tilly, I don't know how finances are at your house, but I sure would like to talk to your DH about possibly rearranging his priorities.

I put my own business on hold to take on the unconventional role of stay-at-home dad. Mom simply makes more, more easily. DH needs to read some books on attachment parenting to see a somewhat different approach than the conventional one. All of this of course is MHO.

As for your current plan and situation.

Sounds like your in a new place away from the doc who vaxed?

No way to do a little creative form filling out and save the anxiety?

Gotta go, my son just won't sit still any longer, and my right leg is falling asleep ! (LOL)
