Crap guys! This is kind of funny...but not for me right now...if I wasn't hormonal it would be.

I just had a huge feeling overcome me and I remembered what it *felt* like to give birth. (And its not that its painful...its kind of just, a really odd sensation, in my memory-weird, uncomfortable.)

I just told my dh, "Honey, I changed my mind!" :

Really.

I shouldn't be freaked out by this. Its #4.

I am getting my baby out of it, after all. :

But I kinda dont want to do it...and from the looks of me, I am not going to have a choice at this point.

At the beginning of my last labor (baby #3), I was standing in the shower with DH next to me when I had my first *really* intense-OMG-this-is-really-labor contraction. WOW. I said, in total seriousness "I changed my mind! I forgot how much this hurts!!" and started crying. Five seconds later I realized how silly that was & half chuckled through my tears.

I'm getting so nervous about labor again. I assume it will be like my last insanely fast one (90 minutes) where I had no warning, just sudden intense ctxs 3 minutes apart & transition quickly following. It's hard to for me to mentally prepare for that again!

I'm a huge fan of birth affirmations. Do you have some favorites? Does chanting them through your mind help? I like to do that and also picture the moment our baby will come out & into my hands... now THAT'S a moment worth laboring for.

But I'm still nervous.

I feel the same way every night when I wake up to pee. I'm ready all day until I get up.

My labor was fast too. about 2 hours (We used cohosh to induce at like 10 days late) And I think 2 pushes. (One would have done it if it werent for the cord triple wrapped around her neck. )

I dont actually know alot about birth affirmations. Holding the baby, and nursing are worth the birth! (But not so much the slippery messy baby. I liked my clean waterbirth-CLEAN!)

I have alot of fears about after birth that are holding me back too. Like "caring for a 4 yr old, 2 yr old, and infant/newborn ALL BY MYSELF 65-70 hours a week on little or no sleep." Yikes...I need to stop thinking about those things!

Wow, I induced with the cohoshes that night, too! Are you going to consider using them again this time? I've always wondered how much the cohoshes had to do with my crazy-fast labor. There was also mec in the water & I hadn't had that at my other births. This time I'm going to stay away from the cohoshes. Even though I know I will be SOOoOOooo impatient at the end!

If you do a Google search for "birth affirmations", you'll get lots. I wish I could share my favorite links but my bookmarks list was eaten by my evil computer. I love reading affirmations & printing out the ones that really click with me. Then I keep them in my mind (along with all on one sheet of paper I read now & then). Lately my favorite ones have been so simple. I keep thinking "I am not afraid. This is the day I've been waiting for! I am not afraid".

Stinky baby to change.....
