We have a video game console that is broken, and I would like to get rid of it. Is this something I can put in the regular trash, or does it need to be disposed of in a special way like old computers and monitors do?
A video game system is basically a small computer, so it should be treated like a computer or any other piece of electronic equipment. Our city has designated locations and times for dropping off electronic trash.
honestly, i'd check and see if there is any market for it on e-bay. my DH just sold an old sega game on e-bay for $112!! if people are willing to pay that for a game, i imagine someone might want a broken system just for parts.
old controllers and accessories go very quickly on our local freecycle. Other than that I'd dispose of as a computer. Here there is a special drop off point at the recycling centres.
