Hello!

I am 8 weeks pp and feel like it is time to get my body into shape. My current weight is 220 (pre this pregnancy 185-pre first pregnancy 145)

In my ideal world I would like to return to pre-pre pregnancy size. How do I make it?

Other factors I am working with: nursing, PCOS, and veg

I am having a really tuff time finding a "diet" that works with all these factors. I feel like I have the exercise part pretty well worked out but would love tips and pointers.

I realize that it won't be quick BUT an ready to make the long haul.

Thanx:

subbing, 12 weeks pp and WAY to heavy. Must get in shape. I am more a TF eater not veg, but need ideas to feed family of seven and still be able to lost weight myself. Hampered by foot problems so exercise is difficult.

I've been losing slowly. I've lost 25 lbs over the last 6 months. Many times, it was discouraging and depressing to be working so hard, only to lose 1 lb in 3 weeks. But now as I look back, it was/is totally worth it. I still have 30-45 lbs left to lose. Things that worked for me:

working out 5-6x a week, at a high intensity. I vary things up (cardio, gym classes, weights, interval training, running). But I aim for 60-120 minutes each day, resulting in a 400-700 cal burn on my HRM.

Track calories, which is very hard for me since I eat a homemade, unprocessed diet. But every so often, I take the time to key my food into sparkpeople. I discoverd that my cups of coffee with cream was "costing" me a lot of calories and fat grams, so I switched to skim milk in my coffee. I've trird makign my homemade granola with double the oatmal and half of teh nuts called for in teh recipie.... things like that. I try to have salads at least 3 days a week.

When I have lost will power, I make a mental decision to just pick up again right then and there... instead of saying "oh, I'll get back on track tomorrow morning or on MOnday" Everything counts, so just because you blow it once, it does matter if you keep on blowing it after that...

I try to eat 10 servings of fruit and veggies a day, along with lean protein and good fats. I also don't deprive myself, but I try to work high cal foods into my daily calories.

I'm 8 weeks postpartum too! My dd was born on 5/2. I'm doing a modified version of the Eat To Live plan and that is working well for me. We are vegan and I EBF. I've also been making sure I fit in 30 minutes of cardio per day, usually by biking or running. I have 20 lbs to lose to get to my pre-preg/ideal weight.
