What are your kids' ages and pseudonyms? Myles (Mickey) 16 Not HS

How long have you been home schooling? Is there a story behind it? Just since Sept. FL schols are the worst inthe country. I didi research for over a year because of my own trepidation. I come from MA so I do know what a decent prep education is and it is not what they were getting. Now I would never turn back


Does your home school have a name or a mission statement? Heidi's house of chaos

What is your general home schooling philosophy? more classical

Do you use a curriculum? eccelctic approach, but, yes Saxon for math. Abeka for History (NOT happy wiht it and won't use again) Bible study comes from church. Otherwise I wing it!

Do you or your children have any special interests or hobbies that influence your home schooling? SLEEP! Who wants to get up at 6 to ride the bus for over an hour????

What is your typical daily routine? weekly routine? Mostly it goes like this: Bible, spelling, math, English, lunch, then eithr history or science and whatever else seems stimulating.

Do you have any special methods/tips for planning? household organization? storage? record keeping? I have a binder where I write a tentative plan on what to do for the week. It is ALWAYS usbject to hcange

Tell us what you did today! Today hasn't started but her eis the Plan: Spelling test, math, math, and more math, we have soil samples on the back porch we have been keeping moist and today we will look at what eukaryotes are in the soil. Homonyms. And Bible. Gwne has reading and writing in her Frindship book plus paragraph revision and and Isadora will work on revising her paragraph.

Its great to read about your life. I have three kids and reading from women like you is such an inspiration. Seven children...what a blessing!

We are in Florida as well. Dh is a school teacher and we know first hand why we dont want ours in the system.

I can't wait to hear about the rest of your week. Science is definitely my weak area of teaching, so I'm highly impressed... don't even know what eukaryotes are!
