So what changed about your approach so that you no longer consider yourselves unschoolers?

To make a long story short, radical unschooling wasn't working for my oldest (he was growing steadily more miserable) and he requested more structure. Things seem to go more smoothly now that their learning has some structure to it.

What are you using for Spanish, Latin and Japanese? Dd (4) is always wanting to know how to say things in Spanish, so I'm starting to pay attention to what people are using!
I love your photos! My dd would LOVE to climb that rope. man!

For Latin, we use Cambridge Latin.

For Spanish, an elementary-level workbook I found at the evil Wal-Mart. (I know Spanish and Latin, so that helps too.)

For Japanese, we use a bunch of stuff cobbled together. The kids know hiragana and right now they're learning katakana. My friend is Japanese and she brought us back some things from Japan last time she went.

I'll try to write a proper update now.

Yeah, the rope is a big hit with my daughter. She says her favorite thing is the bars, although she's best at tumbling. She loves loves loves gymnastics and dance.
