Hi there,

I am pregnant and would very much like to get a glider rocker. But I am concerned looking at the construction that this might be a recipe for smashed fingers. Does anyone else have one with a toddler? DD will be 3 in June.

Thanks,

We do. It's never been a problem. My rocking chair, however, and small feet - some issues THERE!

we have one -- the seat locks automatically when you stand up and DS even when he climbs in it is not heavey enough to "unlock it" Sis has one you have to lock the seat with a level -- i like mine a lot better.

the otterman you can choose to lock or not. we keep it locked. DH unlocks it some, but i make him lock it back, DS tries to climb on it and i want it soild. and it is the part DS expores more, thus more chance of fingers getting hurt.

The only time DS COULD smash a finger is when i am rocking, and then i am watching where it is. the rest of the time the chair doesn't move.

We got ours at babies R Us.

ETA I worry more about or real rocker -- that as bought for my mom whenshe had me -- as it is not soild and does move,...i worry ds will rock that on to himself.

We have an old, cheap one, and I looked it all over and the best I could tell, there simply isn't anywhere in there a finger could get pinched.
