I'm just feeling the need to vent my stress a wee bit...

I have my MW appointment next Monday. The whole process is just stressing me out! I have to make hotel reservations, my small plane reservations (to get into Bethel, where I'll get on the 737 to Anchorage... those reservations are already made), decide whether I want to rent a car or just take cabs everywhere (I haven't driven since August and don't know my way around Anchorage very well).

Last time, DH came along. He's Mr. Preparedness when it comes to traveling. He made lists and printed maps and loooooooooved driving around and getting to know the layout of the major roads in Anchorage. This time, I'm going alone, and the whole thing just seems overwhelming.

OK, vent over. Back to work...

Oh my, I can't even imagine...I find getting organized to see the midwife a chore and I am only 25 minutes drive from her!

Try to look at it as a little treat - you get to stay in a hotel, plan to order room service and eat dinner in your pjs or something. I know you probably hear this all the time but....these alone times will be few and far between (if ever) in a few months (gosh, I sound like such an old mom, LOL!).

Any chance your DH can make all the arrangements for you even though he's not coming along? He could be like your personal assistant :p

I hear you mama, we live a ways away from my MW. We saw her this past Sat and it took us 3.5 hours to get to her and we had to drive through a VERY bad snow storm. Since we just moved here we are new to the area AND snow(We are from Texas) I know my DH loves teaching these kids so that makes it worth it, but next time I have to go alone with a newborn (5 month old) I am scared!!!

HUGS!!!
I think I *will* ask DH to do some of the prep work for me. That's a good idea. I think I will drive, rather than take cabs. And I will very, very much enjoy the hotel stay.

Thanks, ladies... I love my DDC. :

Aww, Blizzard. *Hugs* I completly understand your trepidation about going to Anch. by yourself. Its a big city (for AK, ). But try to remember that you can't get too terribly lost while driving because there are like 3 major Streets. Too bad you weren't coming to Fairbanks. I'd drive you around. That would be a blast. Like a PP said, try to just enjoy the roomservice and your "mini vacation".

I hope you can get everything sorted. I live exactly 10 minutes from the OB office here (and that's with kinda bad "traffic") and I still hate going.

Whenever we go to Anchorage Skipper says you can never get too lost if you pay attention to which side of you the mountains are on. Don't know if that'll help or not (believe me I could get lost anywhere) but have fun!
