<p>So I went to see my mw this morning (I'm 40w 2d) and I'm 5 cm with a bulging bag, paper thin cervix and baby's head "right there".  Based on my last two deliveries (2 and 4 days overdue and 2 1/2 hrs and 1 3/4 hrs labor respectively), she's nervous that we're not going to be making it to the hospital on time if we do nothing and wait.  I'm inclined to agree with her, and dh is good with it too, since he doesn't want a homebirth.  So we left and had lunch, made child care arrangements, and we're going back at 3 when she's done seeing patients for the day, and she's going to break my water. It was pretty cool that she called over to the hospital to let them know the plan, and to tell them to reserve the room with the big labor tub in it for me! <img alt="banana.gif" src="http://files.mothering.com/images/smilies/banana.gif"></p>

<p>I've been having strong ctx  pretty regularly all morning and insane pressure, so I don't think it's a far cry that this would've been happening on its own soon anyway.</p>

<p>So I'm a little nervous, but also excited and just trying to stay calm.  Anyway, I have lots to do before we leave.  I'll update when I get the chance.  I'm so glad to know I have a support team here rooting for me! <p>Just seeing this after the birth thread.  Your stats were just like mine 36 minutes before she was born.  My water broke on its own 28 minutes later and another 8 minutes till I was holding her!  My MW told me I was "5 going on 10" and it sounds like you were, too!  Though I do hope your experience was a little less intense than mine.  :lol</p>
