I know that it is probably a really silly question but...... I just don't want to do anything to hurt my baby!
:
We got really hard to get tickets to the Red Hot Chili Peppers for next week Friday. You guys think that there is any problem with me going? I will be 8 weeks then.

Any ideas? Or someone just please convince me that it is ok

I went to a concert when I was about 5 months pregnant and I got kicked pretty hard but other than that everything was fine.

Maybe you might not want to go in the mosh pit though

I want to go with you! We were trying to get tickets to go, but we couldn't go during the week. Dang! Have fun! You aren't going to hurt the baby. Especially when the baby is so little. They won't hear anything or feel anything. You might want to bring your own beverage though.

The noise shouldn't be a problem, but two things do come to mind.
If it's an arena show, maybe have your partner drop you off at the door rather than having to walk through however many miles of parking.

The big thing that has cut down on my concert-going (we're usually into smaller venue kind of bands) has been people's smoking. There shouldn't be any of that in an arena, but people do sneak them in. I've bowed out of a lot of shows I wanted to see during this prenancy just because I knew I wouldn't be able to handle the cigarette smoke.

Have fun!

That's what I was going to say! Have someone drop you off at the door!
I've been during all different stages in my three pregnancies. Baby might even dance!

Oooh Jezzy!! GOGOGOGO!! It'll be great! when 7 months pg with dd i went to DMB and we had seats so I wasn't worried about crowd control on the 'lawn'. I also saw Dave with Tim reynolds when I was pg with dd, seems to me I was close to birthing that time
. Again~ seat tickets so no loose crowd worries for me.
We've seen sting pg and been to Jazz festivals. A blast every time!!!

My sister and I and a few friends have tickets to Jimmy Buffet about 5 wks beforre my edd this time. I can't wait, I'm the designated driver and plan to dance the night away!

HAVE FUN!!!

I think that you are ok at this stage in your pregnancy. I am at 27 weeks now and I have turned down going to 2 concerts because I read that it is not good and can effect the baby when their ears are starting to develop.

I went to Pirates of the Caribbean 3 movie and the baby kicked through almost a full hour at the end of the movie so I know that he heard that music!

Somebody was just asking about this in the Dec. DDC. At 8 weeks, the baby won't be able to hear for months yet. Should be fine. Maybe staying out of the mosh pit is a good idea though? Also, I don't know about you, but I've really been feeling the heat, so you might want to wear a little tank top or something cool.
The Chili Peppers put on such a great show, you'll have a blast. I'm going to see the Flametrick Subs this weekend and I can't wait.

I just had the same question! We went to a concert a few weeks ago where crowd control really was an issue, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to go. Like PP, I was also worried about all the smoking. My husband called up the venue and explained the situation, and they gave us disability seating for free! I would NEVER have thought of that, but it worked great. The whole area was non-smoking, we had seats (otherwise there were no seats) and the seats were the perfect distance from the band--close but not too close.

The chili peppers were in germany back in november too. We also went to that show with the kids. They were so awesome that we wanted to see them again alone. I hope that dh is satisfied with the fact that we were in the 1st row for the first show and I hope he understands me not wanting to go to far up front. I wish that I had gotten seats!!!

we went to a really loud ziggy marley concert when I was 7-8 months along and the baby was really mad at me, I wound up sitting outside for a little while b/c there was so much kicking and pressure going on in there...

but at 8 weeks, your baby has no ability to hear yet. Go and enjoy!

Go and have a great time! I agree with the OP for you to get dropped off up front (or pull the pregnancy card w/ the parking guy so you can park close
). I went to a ton of shows while pregnant (18 of the same band and countless other bands too) and it was great feeling baby dance with me. I even went to 3 shows in a row at Red Rocks (TONS of stairs) 10 days before DD was born. Stay away from smoke (as much as possible) and steer cleer of the mosh pit (if there is one. RHCP probably has one).

Front row Chili Peppers seats! In Germany! Now that's a ticket stub to hang on to. I'm trying very hard to not be jealous.
For the far-along mamas-to-be, that disability seating is a great idea, Shachar. I love my concerts, so I'll have to remember that.
My sister is at about five months, and she says her baby loves music. I can't wait to feel that.

It was actually pretty funny how we got to the front row. There were 2 sections for the standing area. 1 for invited guests ( not us ) that was seperated by a fence then there were tons of security guards making sure that no one jumped the fence.

Dh and ds(14) wanted to push their way up front. I said that I would stay in the back with dd (11) they should go and have fun. Well dd kept dancing her way up further and further up front till we were in the first row (behind the fence and the guards) I looked left and there was dh and ds right next to us!

Well a guard pointed at us and said no, she has to go. Saying that Emily was to little for the first row against the fence. I argued that she wanted to be here, she worked her way up front and we were staying. He said no and opend the gate and let her through to the invited guests. I said cool and your going to let a 11 year old alone up front without her mother? He let me through, then I said that they (dh & ds) need to go with, we couldn't be seperated! He let us all through to the front where the invited guests were about 100 of them. It was awesome. We are huge RHCP fans our dog is even named after the singer her name is Kiedis
If it were up to day this baby would be some how named after the chilli peppers!

It was an awesome show and we are really looking forward to the show in Munich it is in the olympia stadium open air. I hope that the weather is good!!

Jezzy~ I'm doing really well even though I still puke 1-5 times a day
: . I was sick til about 6.5 mos w/dd and all the way with ds, so... who knows
. I'm into my 22 week and am feeling the Babe from the outside and dh and dd have too which is amazing! We had our u/s at 18 weeks and everything was perfect~ I think that was my first deep breath in almost 5 months
and we didn't find out the sex! I can't believe I didn't cave but the tech made it easy for us
, she wasn't at all chatty or personable
. I am soooo very pregnant now! I swear I look about what I did at birth with my dd and about 7 months with ds. I have a very strong feeling of a girl but dh is convinced of a boy~ either way is amazing and we have no preference but we were both right w/ dd and ds so it'll be interesting to see this time around
. I think about you alot girl! How are you feeling?? How are the kidlets and dh on this amazing new adventure?
