I am due with baby 4 this summer, but remarried 20 months ago and this will be my hubby's 'first rodeo' <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/winky.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Wink"> Any suggestions??<br>
I am very comfortable with how I labor and how I cope. I have managed good hospital births each time despite a few genuine complications. We have decided against a doula. I labor better with fewer people, even managed most of my last labor with no one else there. So far I have tended to fast intense labors (longest was 7 hours, shortest 2.25) I want him to have a good introduction to labor and natural coping techniques so he is not caught off guard. I don't want him to be fearful and and I don't want to pull myself out of labor land to play childbirth educator. He is VERY caring, supportive, gentle and encouraging by nature and so will do fine in that department.<br>
Any ideas? I would prefer a video or web-based program.<br>

I was going to suggest Bradley method. It was great for my husband (so he knew nothing was wrong even though my head was spinning and pea soup was shooting from my mouth <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"> But our midwives were there most of the labor so I know that reassured him too). Then I saw that you were not looking for classes.... Would he be willing to read books about it? I thought Susan McCutcheon's Natural Chilbirth the Bradley Way was pretty good. Penny Simkin's The Birth Partner is pretty middle of the road as far as medical intervention but has a lot of stuff about positions and coping without pain meds.
