Hey waldorf families!!!

Okay we have a teensy, x-s, 950sf bungalow, and because of that I find my self cleaning quite a bit, to keep our house livable!!! Anyway, since I stay home with my little one, he see's me cleaning so so much I want him to know theres more to life than a clean home!!! He often helps me clean doing his *chores* and plays alongside me. I am tring to find some verses and songs about cleaning other than the *clean up, clean up, everybody everywhere* song which we sing all the time!!!! I want our cleaning time to be special and to be part of our daily rythem.

I was thinkign about buying *this is the way we wash a day* is that a book, a cd, or both. Does anyone have this? Good or bad?

Anyone know of good cleaning verses?

Thanks everyone for the inpiration!!!

I just got this book by chance as a companion to our second year in parent/toddler playgroup. I'm really enjoying it so far! Mind you, I'm not one who can read music well or play an instrument but the companion cd is great. It has all of the songs in the book and the woman has a lovely almost celtic sounding acapella voice. If you are like me and don't sing all of the time just putting on that cd can create a sense of calm during chores.

To answer your main question though, we love the tidy up song! This is is the wash a day book but we originally learned it from our playgroup. In fact, when I started singing it at home, DD who is not even two remembered from playgroup and started picking up! Anyway, it is short and sweet so easy to remember.

Let's tidy up! Let's tidy up! Let's put all our things away!
Let's tidy up so tomorrow we'll be ready for work and play,
Let's put our toys away, everything in its place,
Let's put all our things away, all in a snap! Like that!

We have three.

"I met a little dusty gnome.
He said it's time to clean our home.
Toys on the shelf*
Blocks away*
Clean our home"

*substitute what needs cleaning

"Put your things away so carefully,
Carefully 'til the job is done.
Put your things away so carefully.
Carefully 'til the job is done.
Thank you, thank you,
For putting your things away."

And, to the tune of "Shortenin' Bread"
Get all the toys,
Put them away,
Everybody cleans up when we play, play, play.
Everybody clean up, clean up, clean up,
Everybody clean up,
It's clean up time.

"I'm a dusty little gnome,
I like a nice, clean home.
Swish, swish, swish, swish it clean."

Then we try to think of silly ones to add to it.

Boy! this is just what we need too! We love to make up our own verses as well. To the clean up song we sing:

"Clean up clean up, here we go
When I put my toys away
I can find them another day."
