What are all of you planning on listening to?<br><br>
In past births, what music made you feel relaxed, more energetic, better, etc.?<br><br>

Last time around I remember DH putting on the rolling stones right before transition and I yelled at him to turn that sh*t off. It was much to high energy for me. But we did listen to a couple of Grateful Dead CD's and some Beatles earlier in my labor.

I practice and occasionally teach Kundalini Yoga. There are *many* mantra tapes available through Spirit Voyage website. Many people like Snatam Kaur, Grace is a good one, I like too many to list, but the site lets you sample many. Many of the mantra CD's (not melody) are set to music, but there's a science to the rhythm and sound that is more condusive to meditation and focus. Have you heard Krishna Das? (you can listen on krishnadas.com) He's a kirtan leader with a lovely deep, earthy voice. It makes me feel confident about my body's ability to give birth, and I'll definitely be playing it during labor and delivery.

if you are an I-Tunes user, try going to the itunes store and doing a search (like 'birth') under the users' playlists (I think it's called i-mix or something). lot's of variety there and you can preview the songs...

I just picked tapes and cds that I enjoyed listening to.

My last birth I really wanted to listen to a song by System of a Down.Its really pretty and has a nice almost lullaby sound.The birth went so fast that I would never have been able to listen to it especially traveling to the hospital.This time I'm staying home so who knows?maybe I'll get to listen to it.<br>
I tend to like energetic songs better than instrumentals/chantings.It helps me move and roar.
