We had our first "no-vax" appointment today, and our relatively new (in his 20s) pediatrician did NOT fire us, or even remotely freak out. We are, however, the only babe in his practice to not vax! I stuck with religious convictions and he did not question, just had me initial on the chart where he'd written "Refused vaccines for religious reasons". I also had a form ready (that I got from here somewhere) and he noted that I was very organized.

He almost seemed gleeful that I wasn't vaccinating. He did, however, remind me that "this would be his last opportunity for the RotaTeq" and I politely declined.

He had originally told us to start rice cereal right before 4 months, which we ignored, and asked at this visit (6mo) what we were doing, because evidently, it was working well... so I told him he was still EBF . He told me about solids one a week, but then said "I don't need to tell you this, you seem to have it all pretty well figured out." DS is the "picture of health"... imagine that.

I did have to laugh when he took off the cloth diaper (swaddlebees pocket) and he said, "Wow, that's neat... that's really out there!"

He's always really nice to us... funny, since all the other moms complain about him. Maybe it's what they're doing? Maybe he subconsciously likes what we're doing? We are one of 3 or 4 EBF patients there... and it's a large practice, 4 doctors.:

Anyway, I got all stressed and worked up and nervous, and nothing. I'm almost just a little disappointed!

CONGRATS Mama!! It's wonderful to know you have a dr in your corner in the event you need one. (but I doubt that will be very often with your ebf/no vax baby which = HEALTHY!!)
