Hi,

Does anyone know of any good non-traditional baby books? I would like a book to be able to record milestones and put baby photos, but am getting frustrated with the selection in stores. They are not very geared toward someone like me who plans to give birth at home, breastfeed, homeschool, etc.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I would say just make your own! But scrapbooking is one of those things I intend to do and never get around to. (Like my wedding album--1 year later, still not started.) If you're a go-getter, though, that's probably going to be the best option for you to be able to get everything you want out of the baby book, since you're the one making it.

If you are not an artist yourself, ask an artist/computer friend to make a baby book for you, as opposed to getting a gift for báby shower or birth. Make a list of the things you want in the book that is different than the typical books.

And have a lovely homebirth.

What about a computer based baby book... I am really not good at keeping a baby book on paper but I am better with a program (well better at keeping it up to date with info but I am a little behind with pics
)

Anyways... I love using the one I have because it is complety modifiable... I am an Atheist, co-sleeping, babywearing, breastfeeding, unschooling etc mom and I can really take our everything I don't want and add anything I want and it all looks like it belongs and nothing is missing or blank...

This is the one I use "The Baby Album" you can have the free version for as long as you want or buy the full version which includes hosting for other to see it too

I second the computer-based album idea. DH is a programmer and is cooking up some fancy schmancy blog thing
I have tried to do the scrapbooking thing in the past but it just hasn't worked out for me...

Sometimes you just want something solid that you can hold in your hands and pass around at Thanksgiving dinner though, kwim? I have a friend that uses a blog based baby book, but then gets a nice bound album made a few times a year from Shutterfly. I haven't personally used them, but the books she has are really cute- and they can print comments in the book with the pictures.

Good luck!
