Hi all, I have an 11 month old and I am traveling to Mesa to visit family and friends for a couple of weeks. My dd has been teething so has a bit of the sniffles, etc. I don't expect I will be needing to take her in to a clinic, but in case the need arises, I would really appreciate any referrals - especially for Urgent Care, but any docs or peds that are AP friendly and not-vaxxing friendly would be appreciated. Thank you!

I have found the entire area to be ok...especially if you go to urgent care. I've never been asked why my ds and dd aren't vaxed. Dr. Martin in Gilbert is our regular pedi. and supportive of non-vaxing. Sun Valley Pediatrics in Chandler is our UC of choice when needed and we've never been hassled there.

I love Sun Valley Pediatric Urgent Care, too. The doc didn't blink at my nursing 3 yo. I actually like Dr Philips better than my regular ped.

We've only taken our son to Sun Valley Urgent Care once, but I have to say that Dr. Philips is wonderful too. He used to work at Desert Sam Hospital in Mesa in the ER, and he saved our son's life, literally, when he was 1 day old. I am forever indebted to Dr. Philips.

I love Dr. Phillips! He is amazingly kind and gentle with the kids! We went there a LOT before trying Dr. Martin because Dr. Agarwal was just too far after we moved to the east valley. Dr. Phillips recently impressed me too--he mailed me a refund check for a copay after I had to take my dd in twice to dx strep. He felt SOOO bad that he didn't dx it on the first visit. I wasn't upset; her rapid test was negative and I also wanted to avoid abx if possible. The check was handwritten by him!

I haven't used them (a friend did and was pleased), but always look them up when I travel...CVS has a Minute Clinic which I believe is $59 for a visit (I think they take insurance too). I wouldn't use it as a regular dr, but would go to one if I was in a bind.

Phoenix Children's Hospital has opened an Urgent Care/Emergency Room on Higley & Southern. I live about 45 minutes from the hospital itself and anytime my daughter needs to go to the ER (she has asthma) I make the drive in to PCH because they are fantastic. When she had to be hospitalized last year we also chose admittance at PCH. Knock on wood she hasn't had to make an ER/Urgent Care trip since October but we know where we will be taking her.

http://www.phoenixchildrens.com/cont...alty-mesa.html

We love TLC peds, my kids have been seeing them forever. Dr. Matsumotto is ranked one of the best pediatricians in Arizona. For Urgent care, we've been to StatClinix a few times and received good care there.
