My son has had yellow-ish goop in both eyes, sort of alternating between his eyes. Usually one is crusty each morning for the past few days. I've been putting breastmilk in them and they don't seem to be bothering him. (no rubbing them aside from normal sleepy rubs) His eyes also aren't too pink or red in the white. It's more swollen and reddish above the eyelid. Looks like when an adult has an allergy or is detoxing something. The yellowish goop makes me think infection, but I just don't know. Any ideas? Do young babies (10 months) get reactions to pollen/ dust/etc.? Or could it be a food thing?(though it would be the ONLY symptom). Interestingly, this coincides with him just starting to walk. I find that interesting anyways... not quite sure why though

Thanks for the help!!

My ds (4.5mo) just got over some goopy eyes. He didn't have any redness anywhere, but he rubs his eyes a lot. It started in one eye and then eventually went to the other. But no redness, so I just treated with breast milk and colloidal silver drops. Don't know if it helped or if it passed on it's own. Took a little over a week to pass.
