I just found out I can get a free safety repair kit for my blinds.

Please forward this web address to anyone you know with blinds manufactured before 2001, especially people who are renting. I'm rather shocked the management at my apartment community hadn't fixed this. I'm gonna make sure they fix them all now.

I have the newer blinds that don't have the cords that are attached. However, I don't see how my cords are that much safer if they are separated. I mean I can see how a child will not choke because the two cords are separated but the child could still choke if one or the other cord is wrapped around his/her neck, kwim? I got some of those cord thingies (don't know what they're called) that wrap the cord up inside them. It has a little disc that you wrap the cord in then a cover goes on it. Do you know what I'm talking about?

I bought some of those cord windups and then realised I can't use them. I've got vertical blinds. I guess you've got horizontal blinds? Yep the cord windup sounds better there than 2 strings hanging down.
