Got my IUD taken out! Add me to the club :)

I got a Mirena IUD at my 6 week postpartum check-up back in 2002, thinking that I would want to wait quite a while for #2. Well, I was wrong! I have baby lust bad.
I got in with my old midwife and, just a few hours ago, I again became a potential baby-maker, lol.
I am very anxious to start growing #2, but I haven't had any pp afs (possibly due to IUD) and I may still be anovulatory. I've just started charting my temps and will be using a saliva microscope starting next week or so. So, I guess that makes me "waiting to be ready"? I wish my body was as ready as my heart already is! I suppose the next few weeks will tell.
So, hi, y'all!
I know I'll enjoy my time here, but hope it isn't *too* long, lol.

Oh, oh, oh! I am wanting to do the same thing! Tell me, did it hurt? I am so scared to get it out. My Nurse Practitioner offered to take it out for me last week, but I chickened out. Please tell me it is better getting it out then getting it in??

edited to add: I just got my first pp af 2 weeks ago, so I really hope getting the IUD out will help with getting af back more regular. Of course, DD is still a nursing monster, so that could have something to do with it as well!
Oh congratulations and welcome to the land of TTC! I've added your name to the list and there's a ton of girls waiting to welcome you to the One Thread.

I didn't think it was very bad---it was definately not quite as bad as getting it in, and this was much quicker. My midwife went ahead and did a quick pap smear at the same time (since she was down there, so I won't have to have one if/when we get pg), but even so it took about a minute and a half. Not very bad at all, and I feel so FREEEE!
