Well, we spent the last 4 days up at my grandma's house for Thanksgiving. I decided just to put DS in sposies for the trip thinking it would be easier - big mistake! He is very sensitive to them - he got the worst rash within hours of putting them on. We tried several brands and I changed him every hour but his poor little bottom and groin were just red and raw.

I had 2 FBs, 2 Bumkin covers and a snappi in the bottom of my bag (just in case I needed them) and we bought 2 packs of Gerber prefolds (ugh!) from Walmart. My grandma set up a wet pail in her bathroom and dunked them for me, then I dunked them. She has now dunked diapers for 3 generations of our family! She was telling me how prefolds were the new thing when my youngest uncle was a baby, I told her how I consider that the "old-fashioned" kind.

If I can make it through the week on Gerber prefolds and 2 FBs at night then I'm pretty happy. My grandma told me she had to use a pillow case as a dipe for me one day when my mom didn't leave enough!

I've never been so happy to get back to my stash!

I'm sure she enjoyed spending that time remembering the "diaper days"

My grandma loves our cloth too. She loves all the fun prints and stuff. She can pin on a prefold with her eyes closed and one hand tied behind her back. It is cool!

When my grandma saw DD's diaper, she said "Is that cloth ? Then WOW! It's fancy!! She'd only ever seen flats. I showed her a Bummis SWW & she was amazed by it... she'd only ever seen plastic pants.

My grandma's hands are so crippled by arthritis that she can't change the baby, but she sure was amazed by all our cloth. She is so excited that I use cloth - tells all her friends about it, brags to anyone who will listen, etc. She absolutely LOVES hh though - she can do those
