Gray/New Gloucester Schools?

Hi, all. We currently live in Portland but are contemplating a move to an amazing house in New Gloucester. The catch -- our very inquisitive, active and verbal ds will be entering kindergarten in the Fall. I haven't heard a lot of positive info about the public schools in Gray/NG, and we want to make sure we wouldn't be sticking him somewhere where he'd be bored/neglected/labeled a troublemaker. I know they're working on improving the schools there; I just don't have a clear picture how much they've succeeded.

I would greatly appreciate if folks could share any info or experience, either positive or negative, about Gray/New Gloucester schools, especially the K-2 schools.
