I saw my perinatologist and he is so awesome. I explained that I am going to be having a natural birth and would prefer to be in the birth center (which is located in the hospital but run my midwives) for my labor and delivery as I really want to be able to labor in a tub and have less intervention this time. He was totally fine and supportive of my decisions. He said that I am the one that gives birth and however I want to do it is fine with him. What a relief! He said that I still need to be seen by him throughout my entire pregnancy, but that he would be more than happy to talk to the head director of the midwives to work something out for me. The very same day of my appt he called me later that afternoon to let me know that he had already contacted the director and that I will absolutely be allowed to labor and birth with the midwifes. As I get further along we will do dual appts as they are in the same building, so I get the best of both worlds for my particular situation. I can not tell you how ecstatic I am! Thanks for reading this got a little long.
