That whole locker room thing kills me. I asked dh about it once (because someone here said their dh was worried that ds would be made fun of because he would look different in the locker room). He looked at me, rolled his eyes, went back to his book and boredly said, "Honey, the rule of the locker room is - don't look." I love my honey!

YEAH!!! This is what I think, too!!!
We just have to help our boys feel empowered about that difference... just like any difference they need to feel comfy with (and our girls, though diff subjects! hahaha)!!!

Of course, he grew up in the city. Out in the sticks where I grew up, I had a friend who was an intact jock-type guy. He used to entertain me with stories about the locker room. Teenage boys sliding across the wet floor, naked, whipping eachother with towels, and pulling all sorts of pranks and jokes. Never in any of his stories, did his intactness come up as a negative. Nobody really cared about that sort of thing. He got teased about all sorts of things, but never about his penis.
| Yeah, my dh said that if anyone said, "Look at John's penis, he isn't circumcised!" that the commentor would get ridiculed for looking at another's penis, and in locker room parlance, that would make him *gay*, and that would be much worse than being intact! (Kids are stupid and bad in this use of gay and I don't like it but there it is.) |
