I currently use 50/50 white vinegar/ water to clean most things like sinks, counters, ect, adding baking soda when I think it needs a scrub.<br>
The vinegar disinfects, correct? I grew up doing this, so I've never put too much thought into it, but my DD is starting to touch *everything* in the bathroom and I want to make sure that after I clean things are actually clean, if that makes sense.<br><br>
Also- what do you use to clean out the toilet bowl? How about for dish soap, hand soap, and laundry detergent? We're currently using commercial products for these and I'd like to switch them out, too. My goal is a totally chemical free home.<br>

Let's see ...<br><br>
I make my own Laundry Soap<br>
I use baking soda and Ecover toilet cleaner in the can<br>
I use club soda to do windows & glass<br>
I use borax and soap for heavy duty scrubbing<br>
I use the 7th Generation shower cleaner for a daily shower spray<br>
I use Trader Joe's or 7th Generation dishwasher soap<br><br>
If you're worried about disinfecting, I recommend Tea Tree Oil or Hydrogen Peroxide.

Can I ask how you make laundry detergent? Is it cloth diaper safe?<br>
With the hydrogen peroxide do you just wipe with it after you clean?<br>

1 grated bar soap<br>
1.5 cups washing soda<br>
1.5 cups borax<br>
1 cup oxiclean<br><br>
1 TB front loaders/2 TBS top loaders. Use vinegar in the rinse cycle. If you have a top loader, just put some in a downy ball. This keeps the soap from building up. I use it for everything. There is no bleach so it should be fine for your dipes.<br><br>
As for the peroxide, I just spray and wipe. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/winky.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Wink">
