Hi Mamas,
My DD (22m) use to eat veggies, either pureed, juiced, in muffins or hidden in pasta sauce or on pizza. In the last few days she's on strike where veggies are concerned. I am thinking about giving her greens + for kids. Has anyone tried it? I actually bought it and made a serving tonight to try myself and she had a few sips. It's got stevia in it to make it taste "good" to kids. After she drank it she literally climbed the walls for 10 minutes and then stopped. Does that sound normal? I've never tried stevia before - does it have the same effect as sugar?
I'd love your thoughts and ideas.

Stevia actually helps balance sugar levels.

She probably gained the energy from all the oxygen rich green food such as spirulina and barley grass.

I would offer it in the AM instead.

I make smoothy pops with rice milk and bananas with the greens+ in popsicle moulds for dd. (and me too!)

Mountain Mom,
Do you use Greens + or the KIDS version. How old is your DD? I was told that the kids version is for kids over 2 (my DD is 22m) and that I couldn't use "Adult" Greens + if I was still BFing. ???? Does your girl get loopy afterwards?

Hi there,
My dd will be three in November and we use the greens+ for kids and we use only 1 teas. per serving for her.

There are a few ingredients in the greens plus that are questionable during breastfeeding. Green tea is one. The reason they put the warning about the breastfeeding is due to the caffienne content of the green tea in the adult version. Also chlorella can be cleansing and stimulating so in the early days of breastfeeding it may be too stimulating for the babe. BUT there are women who consume sugar and coffee while breastfeeding a newborn and I view those things as more stimulating by far.

BTW the childversion contains naturally decaf. green tea.

My dd doesn't get overly woundup from the greens just energetic.

thanks mountain mom,
i gave her greens again today, much less than a tsp and she seemed happy afterwards. do you think there is calcium in there? i think my DD is in real need of calcium (i limit dairy after a natropath told me it causes her to much mucus buildup and still BF).

thanks again,
xo
