I've had it with my city's weed-overgrown drainage projects, and with all the crappy landlords and homeowners in my neighborhood who don't do anything with their yards all year. I'm talking no mowing, nothing, just letting it go to hell.

Sooooo, I just made my first flower bomb. I've got a paper grocery bag full of seeds I harvested from my garden -- sunflowers, zinnias, and 3' marigolds, mainly -- and I'm going to bomb their areas. If they don't like it, they can mow it (like they are supposed to). If they continue to not maintain their properies, at least there will be some flowers.....

Any other Greenspace Guerillas out there? Care to join me?

Well, not sure if I am quite up to bombing other people's yards, but I would love it if you would bomb ours. Last thing we got bombed with was a stolen car. The driver, being chased by CHP through our 25 mph neighborhood street, lost control went through the fence and front yard then totalled one car and the other is still in the shop. He conveniently missed the 100 lb. zucchini, the prickly pear cactus, and the formosa tree, all of which we would have loved to have freely removed.

I would love to be bombed with an almond tree. Or any other type of tree that can withstand the onslaught of a 50 mph stolen 10-year old bmw. Not saying an almond tree can do this. Just think an almond tree would be nice.

Good luck. I think the sunflowers will do well. Morning glories can also be pretty hardy and climb over almost everything.

I can think of some places in my area that could stand being bombed!

Good for you! You sound like Miss Rumphius !

But, I have to admit that I think lawn mowing is highly over rated. I am so glad we moved out of the small town we used to live in. Everyone was so fixated on having the perfect manicured lawn. Boring.
