I am aware of Birthmark but are there other group childbirth classes in Philly starting up soon? I have a friend who is due in June and would like to start a class ASAP. Any suggestions?

Hospital classes aren't off-limit if you think they'd be appropriate for someone trying a natural birth. BUT, the preference is out-of-hospital cbe classes.

Any suggestions are welcome!

Here is a link to my website where under 'local resources', I've listed some private CBE classes in the area that I know of. She'd have to contact them about when they start, though.

Yoga Child on South Street. I didn't do the workshops (but know many happy participants). I really enjoyed the prenatal yoga program and it was essential for me to have a natural delivery.
http://www.yogachild.net/prenatalwor...birthprep.html

I took the one-day class at Pennsy. It depends on who your instructor is, but the LC who lead ours certainly scared me and my husband away from any interventions!

The Maternal Wellness Center in Mt Airy is where I took my birth class. We did an 8week Birth Works class (I think it was 2-3 hours for 8 weeks!) it was AWESOME
