...the person I talked to on the phone said they would NOT charge me because they had just made a routine service visit and reset my meter for other reasons so it was perfect timing.

I wondered why my bill looked so high.

Now I get to waste time contesting it. The little annoying challenges never seem to end. Fingers crossed that they can just waive it for me.

Did anyone else run into this?

Also I need to apply for a car loan soon -- when I downsize my car I will be saving 40% on gas monthly, which means I can roughly afford the car payment. Well, I need last year's taxes to do the car loan, and it's complicated because of the current tax situation with XH, and so THAT is going to not be easy, either. I'm looking forward to really being fully separated financially, and that won't happen until I file taxes for 2012 under my name only.

I want easy. Really, is that too much to ask? I want EASY for ALL of us here!

I would just call them back and ask them to look at the notes in your account because usually when they say they'll waive a fee they'll make a note about it. Sometimes if a company has different departments that deal with you separately, not all people involved are able to view the notes. So if someone tells you there's nothing they can see, ask if there's someone else who would possibly know what you're talking about or who would be able to make the decision to waive the fee.

I tried to do that and they tried to tell me because of my credit they needed at $300+ deposit that I'd get back after a year of on-time payments. Needless to say I left it in his name.
