I have been stressing about the 28 week 1 hr test since my BFP because I have "failed" it every pregnancy and had to do the 3 hr test which is usually fine but they both make me horribly ill. I have big babies (10lbs) so my midwife's backup OB really pushes for it to be in my records.
So today we did a fasting draw and a 1 hr after 50g glucola. My fasting was 75 and my 1 hr was 122. Woohoo! I did get super sick at about 90 minutes, but I don't have to do it again! The looming cloud is gone!
Of course my iron is low, but I can fix that with Floradix. That has happened every pregnancy at this point. I can't seem to maintain my iron levels with just alfalfa and diet alone....
Glad you passed!
And thank you for mentioning your iron. I usually have great numbers for hematocrit but have problems keeping an adaquate number in 3rd tri, I had totally spaced on that little fact. Off to VitaminShoppe tomorrow for the Floridix.

So glad you passed this time! Did you do anything different, change your diet at all or anything? I was really worried about mine too because I failed the 3-hour in my last pregnancy, and I really wanted to avoid the whole higher-risk thing this time around. I was super careful with my diet, made sure I ate protein with carbs, had very little sugar, even natural sugars. And I passed the 3 hour no problem. I was/am SO HAPPY about that,

And I'm pretty sure my iron is low too--I can't keep up with just diet either. I'm taking Floradix, alfalfa and chlorophyll.

So glad you passed. I also had a fear of the GTT because I have hypoglycemia and you just can't get accurate numbers from this test for someone like me. Of course, I failed but am refusing the 3-hour because I know it will make me so ill. I am doing fasting blood draws once a week until delivery but to be on the safe side, I am following the GD diet because its healthy and simple. Eat healthy, square meals/snacks, often. I have been doing this for week and feel great.

Also, I found out I was anemic too! I don't think I have ever been anemic but I also have been faithful to my Floradix again and eating Cream of Wheat(iron fortified) for breakfast in addition of my normal consumption of meat, green veggies. I guess I can't just get it from my diet either.
