I'm really surprised to be here, pregnant with #5.

I just found out yesterday and I'm kind of freaked out. This was not a planned pregnancy, and while I'm sure I'll get used to it soon and even feel happy, right now I just feel freaked out! Four children is a lot, and I homeschool, and sometimes I do not feel like a very patient effective mom.

I am grateful that so far this pregnancy has been easy -- so easy that I didn't even THINK I might be pregnant. It was only complete exhaustion that drove me to my general practitioner to find out if my iron was low.

I had weight loss surgery 18 months ago, so I will probably be doing shadow care with an Ob/Gyn. My weight loss surgery is not the standard Roux-N-Y gastric bypass; I had a Biliopancreatic Diversion with a Duodenal Switch. I've lost 130lbs. This will be my first pregnancy at a normal body weight. I'm still planning a homebirth.

Here's to a wild ride!

Congrats! Glad you can join us here!

Having a big family is so awesome! No mom is perfect, and I know I'm not. The next one will fit right in, like s/he has always been there .

I hear ya. We're another homeschooling family surprised by #5... with an oldest who recently mentioned how nice it is to be done with baby stuff.
