I'm making milk!!! Please forgive me if this is such a "been there, done that" for all you lactation veterans, but I am just so proud and amazed, I have to share it with someone who will understand. I am 31 weeks pregnant today, first baby, and I have little droplets of colostrum forming on my nipple. I knew it would happen, but I didn't know I would be so ecstatic and astounded! My baby is not due for nine weeks, and already my body knows what she needs. I am so amazed at myself, I can't imagine what I will accomplish next? Maybe I'll leap tall buildings in a single bound. It is such a miracle, totally mundane, but totally amazing! I can't wait to start nursing!<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngbiggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="orange big grin">

Woo Hoo, congratulations! That's got to be exciting. I didn't make milk with my first until I actually gave birth. I kept trying to get some out, but there was never anything there. Now in this pregnancy I've been able to manually express a little colostrum, and I think it is so cool!

Isn't it exciting? I'm right there with you, at around 26 weeks. At first I was a little freaked out, as in, should it be happening so early? Not even 30 weeks and I'll need nursing pads to avoid damp spots? Then I decided to just be happy knowing I certainly wouldn't prefer the other extreme! I'll be a milk machine any day! lol! I also already have dreams about nursing babies....maybe I'm doing a little too much research? Anyway just wanted to share in the excitement with you. Pregnancy is so much fun!
