And she couldn't find a heartbeat either. She said she doesn't think anything is wrong but I feel like she was just saying that to keep me calm. I have an ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow at 11, so we'll see then if this little bean has a heartbeat or not. I am so so nervous.

hang in there, mama.
it is scary to not hear anything, but it doesn't always indicate a problem (I know... easy to say, hard to believe). I hope your ultrasound goes well tomorrow. keep us posted. we're all rooting for you.

I was at the mw last week. I was 14 weeks and she had a heck of a time finding the hb. In fact she was just about to give up when she found it. She assured me nothing was wrong, and I agreed with her. She said my fundal height was right on. Her suspicion was that I have an anterior placenta as she kept picking up my hb. I had an anterior with my last pregnancy and the dr didn't find the hb at 12 weeks. Did you hear the baby swish by at all? I wouldn't worry. Enjoy seeing your lo on the screen tomorrow!

it could definitely just be positioning so hope your u/s goes really well. my u/s at 12.5wks for the nuchal translucency screen was the first i saw/heard of the heartbeat. so hope it's a beautiful, strong heart to look at!

Fingers crossed for you, Steph. I know I've read stories on these boards from mamas who didn't hear the hb until 18-20 weeks or later, and had perfectly healthy babies. Could be placenta placement, or maybe your babe's just in a funky position. Sending good heartbeat vibes your way!

My uterus tips backwards in a funny way which makes things very hard to hear except for ultrasound. My midwife doesn't think she'll be able to hear the heartbeat by doppler for a while yet. Thankfully I heard it once at 9 weeks with my first ultrasound -- what a relief! And I get another ultrasound on Wednesday for the nuchal translucency.
Here's hoping you get a great look on your ultrasound and that heartbeat is nice and strong and awesome!

: hope you get to hear and see your babe this morning mama!!! I'm hoping s/he is just a sneaky little one and has found a comfy spot to hang out in that's hard for the MW to find with the doppler.
I'll be thinking of you!!!

Hope you get some good results! We were only able to hear the HB for about 5 seconds before the little one ran away! Had an ultrasound the next week (not related) and the poor little thing was doing flips and jumping all over when they tried to get the HB again! Hopefully your little one is doing the same!
